Webinar…Understanding Mandatory Reporting in Youth Travel Programs
Date: January 7, 2026
Time: 2-3pm ET / 11am-12pm PT
When working with minors in various travel and youth programs, staff often encounter uncertainty about their obligations as mandatory reporters. What’s the difference between behaviors that should be reported internally and those that must be reported to a state mandated reporting office? If something is reportable, is it enough to tell your supervisor, or do you have to go directly to the state? What if you’re note sure if it’s reportable? Should you investigate first?
In this one-hour webinar, Cornerstone Safety Group will be joined by attorneys from the Potomac Law Group to bring clarity to these and other important questions about our obligations as mandated reporters. Together, we will:
Explain our legal obligations as mandated reporters
Clarify the roles and responsibilities of mandatory reporters
Provide practical examples of when reporting systems must be activated
Share best practices for responding appropriately to concerning behavior
The session will conclude with an open Q&A, giving participants the opportunity to address real-world questions and scenarios with legal and risk management experts.
