The Itinerary

This is no ordinary conference or retreat. In fact, we're focusing our time together on the most important conversations that typically occur in between structured conference events. We believe this is where the best learning and connections take place. Through our novel and intentional approach, you'll walk away with. Through our novel and structured approach, you’ll walk away confident in how to lead your organization through 2024 and beyond, a clear sense of purpose and vision, and a community to help you see it through.

  • 5pm - 7pm MT. Join us Monday evening as you settle into your accommodations at the Table Mountain Inn. Cornerstone will host an evening happy hour to welcome all attendees and set the tone for the retreat ahead.

  • It all begins with you. As the leader of your organization, your sense of purpose, mission, and leadership style impact results.

During this first day, we’ll participate in a mix of structured reflection hosted by our guest speakers paired with deep and meaningful discussions with your peers, hosted by Cornerstone.

At the end of the day, continue meaningful conversations with your peers at your own pace. Dinner is open to explore on your own, schedule a meet up, or sample some of Golden's breweries.

  • Today, we turn our reflections and insights into actionable next steps.

How do you want your organization to grow and shift over the coming years? What legacy are you leaving and how can you do so with intention?

During guided reflection, join roundtable discussions and dive into topics to help you develop a renewed sense of purpose and prepare to lead your organization through the next phase.

Before completing the day, take part in a short exercise to highlight your strengths alongside areas of continued growth that will carry the group forward for ongoing collaboration until we meet again next year.

  • Thursday, leave refreshed, connected, and ready to drive your organization to the next level - while being mindful of your own goals and style.

As we depart - perhaps returning home or staying nearby to take advantage of the final ski weekend in Colorado - we hope you’ll feel grateful for the connections made and the community that will drive you and your business forward.

  • Nope! This is decidedly not a risk management conference. It’s not really a conference of any type, actually. The goal of this retreat is to bring you together for intentional reflection and development around the unique challenges you face as owners and senior leadership of your organizations. The environment will be that of the “sessions between sessions” at a “typical” conference - the opportunities to connect and grow that really matter, all in a matter of days!

  • Cornerstone has selected a handful of members’ leaders and owners to attend this year’s retreat. We are aiming for an environment in which owners/senior leadership feel comfortable being open and honest about their personal and professional challenges. As peers, we’ll support by sharing solutions and offering guidance, including staff and succession planning.

As owner/senior leader, you’re welcome to also invite one other member of your senior leadership team, however, we recommend that you come alone to this first event, as a way to personally and professionally develop with focused reflection.

  • Flights and transportation to/from the accommodations are not included. However, Cornerstone will provide guidance on transportation and arrival as we get closer to the event.

Dinners are also not included - we made an intentional decision to allow peers to grab dinner together at their leisure, to allow for more relaxed connection and to explore charming Golden, Colorado.

  • Nope! If you’re not planning to travel in the region before or after the retreat, we recommend you use public transportation and rideshare to reach Golden. We’ll provide guidance from our local team members as we get closer to the retreat date.

Once in Golden, our accommodation is in the town center - everything is walkable!

  • We’re requesting that all attendees take part in our reserved accommodations at the Table Mountain Inn. This is to ensure that we’re creating an environment and retreat culture that allows leaders to connect informally throughout the day and evening. It’s also meant to be a retreat - come reflect and refresh with us in our quiet, calm, and comfortable accommodations!
